Hands down best Japanese food in DFW, and the best meal I've ever had in my life. The beef tongue sent me to another plane of existence, I had tears in my eyes. Got the Taiwan Ramen and it had an excellent kick, the noodles were so good and perfect thickness, delicious golden color, the egg was flavorful and yolk was slightly runny. My partner had the takoyaki and sashimi plate, said it was the best they ever had (and they know their fish!!). If you are ever in Texas for a brief time, take the time to come here. It's worth the wait and more. Got here around 6:15pm and were seated around 6:45pm, exactly 30 minute wait, and on a Wednesday. Somehow even more packed by the time we were leaving around 8pm, the place is small with few tables. If you want to eat here plan to come early/close to open. If you have 3 or more people, you'd better book a reservation.

Get there early or make your reservation!!!! I've gotten the privilege to live in Japan. Although one thing that haunts my soul is the yearning I have for the food that I left behind when returning home. This place filled my soul with a dinning experience that almost replicates the joys you find in a small little alley deep in the heart of Osaka, or Naha, or Tokyo. It felt so authentic that when I closed my eyes for a moment I could believe I was back where I do desperately wanted to be. This place doesn't just serve you food. It transports you back into the feeling of eating in Japan. Which is such a precious experience that is hard to recreate especially in America. My waitress was wonderful the food left me in tears. I could go on and on about this place. But the bottom line is this place feeds you and your soul. I highly recommend.

This place is awesome. The staff are on point plus super friendly. The food and the prices are good. The atmosphere is exactly what I wanted it to be. Remind me of some of the places I went to in Golden Gai and Matsumoto. I will definitely go back. If you're having a hard time finding it, it's on the side of the building. You will think there's nothing there until you open the door.

I got here about 30 minutes before they opened and there were about 20 people in line. I was seated immediately at the bar once they opened. Staff were super friendly and attentive. I had the appetizer set with an Asahi which was a great value. It had a cold mashed potato salad, a sushi, and some delicious tuna. I also order the potato korokke, karaage, and kare. Probably the cheapest serving of kare I've found in dfw. Smallish portion which is perfect when you're eating a lot of dishes. The atmosphere is perfect, really doesn't feel American at all. I will definitely be back.

Mr. Max is hidden little gem. Large parties can expect a little bit of wait time. This is a shoes off authentic experience that makes you feel like you’ve stepped in a Japanese restaurant during a night stroll. The food and service are top tier! Their restroom is exceptionally premium. Order every thing off the menu. I recommend the high ball ; )
